Looking Forward #1: Doctor Who, Jupiter's Ascending & GODZILLA!

In what looks to be a frequent feature, here's a roundup of some interesting trailers that have been hitting the internet recently and why I'm excited for their release.

THE TIME OF THE DOCTOR

WHAT IS IT? It's the Christmas Special of Doctor Who that will be the final adventure starring Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor.

WHY AM I EXCITED? It'll be hard to top The Day of The Doctor, but The Time of the Doctor could be set to be very interesting indeed. Lots of villains (Weeping Angels, Daleks, Cybermen & Silence!) and the final episode with Matt Smith before we are introduced to Peter Capaldi. The last time The Doctor regenerated was in The End of Time, so hopefully The Time of the Doctor will be a bit better than that and not rely on emotional buildup like The Angels Take Manhattan did. However, I'm incredibly excited - and it has all the makings of a classic.

JUPITER ASCENDING

WHAT IS IT? A space opera from the makers of The Matrix, Jupiter Ascending stars Mila Kunis, Channing Tatum and Sean Bean.

WHY AM I EXCITED? Space Opera. It's rare that there's an original science fiction movie at the cinema these days that isn't part of an already developed franchise (I'm not sure if this is a book adaption or not) and Jupiter Ascending could be a lot of fun. The trailer looks interesting and with some awesome visual effects things look set to be very fun indeed. Although what's the odds on Sean Bean lasting to the end credits?

 GODZILLA

WHAT IS IT? GODZILLA!

WHY AM I EXCITED? GODZILLA! No seriously. Godzilla. Or Pacific Rim: The Prequel.
