This is, like The Top 5 Picks from Image's Solicits, going to be mostly newcomer friendly. However, with the only #1s being debuted this month are Future's End, Superman: Doomed and Justice League United, there will be some catching up to do on certain comics.
FUTURE'S END #1

WHY SHOULD YOU BE READING? The Batman Beyond series is one of my favourite at DC right now and although Christos Gage and Kyle Higgins are not involved in this the title should be very awesome indeed. Whilst weeklies are a blow for the budget, Future's End has, like Batman: Eternal, a wealth of cool potential and could be awesome especially as Giffen is doing a solid job on Justice League 3000 and Jeff Lemire is really impressing with Green Arrow right now. I'm less sold on Dan Jurgens and Azzarello, but I'm willing to put up with them to get an awesome storyline that should rock. Let's see how it goes. Of course, there are three other Future's End issues this month, but I'm only including the first one due to easiness.
JUSTICE LEAGUE UNITED #1
In Canada, the team of Animal Man, Green Arrow, Martian Manhunter and Stargirl is joined by Adam Strange to fight an unstoppable force called the unimaginable.
WHY SHOULD YOU BE READING? Jeff Lemire. Enough said, really - his Green Arrow work is excellent so this should rock as well. Justice League United sounds like a cool team up and it could be a lot of fun. Looking forward to more.
GREEN ARROW #31
'The Outsiders War' finale featuring the return of Count Vertigo! As the final shot in the war is fired from his bow, what is left of Green Arrow?
WHY SHOULD YOU BE READING? Green Arrow may be concluding an arc this month, but that doesn't mean you can't go back and read the previous issues in The Outsiders War. It's just been one success after another for Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino and I can't wait to see how this arc wraps up - there's a reason why Green Arrow is my favourite title out there right now.
BATMAN ETERNAL #5
As the Dark Knight's weekly series continues, Red Robin takes centre stage in a major Gotham City mystery that has Harper and Cullen Row caught in the crosshairs!
WHY SHOULD YOU BE READING? You knew there was going to be a Batman book in there somewhere. Sure, Batman is great and all - but Batman Eternal will focus on other characters in the Batfamily and at last it looks like we're getting a Tim Drake issue not written by Scott Lobdell - so hopefully this can redeem one of my favourite characters. Plus, Harper and Cullen Row are both awesome as well, so this should be great. And, like with Future's End, expect three more Batman Eternal books this month.
THE MOVEMENT #12
There's no length the Movement won't go to if it means rescuing one of their own from a cult that has deep roots in Burden's hometown.
WHY SHOULD YOU BE READING? Normally it'd be Batgirl (or Swamp Thing or Red Lanterns) that would go here as Gail Simone is an excellent writer, but because it's sadly the final issue of The Movement - a title that has been excellent from the start, The Movement gets the fifth spot. It's a must read book that's really worth catching up on and it's a series that I'm really going to miss. But still, it's been nice knowing you, Movement. Hope to hear from you again soon.
